While in Australia over the holidays, my mother-in-law introduced me to Polli. I instantly loved their charming and quirky jewellery line. They have a delightful range of earrings, pendants, brooches and even cufflinks, produced in stainless steel, wood, thread and leather. I now have my very own pair of stainless steel earrings and I can tell you, I certainly feel pretty in Polli. Have you seen their jewellery before? I’d love to hear which is your favourite.

{ Cologne Christmas Markets }

Over the weekend we took a trip to Cologne, Germany to visit their historic Christmas markets. It was such a magical experience and I’d definitely recommend it. Germany’s Christmas markets are renowned for their old world charm and traditional German craftwork. On top of this they serve a superb range of delectable German delicacies, from baked apples to hot chestnuts, bratwurst, potato pancakes, gingerbread biscuits, chocolate and mulled wine to name a few. It’s the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Here is a link to a very comprehensive site about the different markets. It really is a must see!

If the supplier morning at Lourensford is anything to go by, then the ninth KAMERS vol geskenke event is going to be a RAGING success. I so wish I could go, all you lovelies in Cape Town and Pretoria will have to go and tell me how it was!

The KAMERS vol geskenke team are well known for their innovative sourcing of creative talent and collaboration with suppliers on fresh and new product ideas - it is a platform for unique quality handmade and crafted products that are not easily available in the market place.

With its emphasis on handcrafted wares, from jewellery to gourmet products, ceramics, soft furnishings, tableware, décor accessories, designer garden gear and clothing, KAMERS vol geskenke is not into the perfectly made or the mass produced – it’s about high end true craft, slightly imperfect, timeless and originally designed… that special something that is only found at the show.

The event will be taking place from 25-29 October 2011 at Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset-West from 9am to 6pm daily and from 29 November to 3 December 2011 at The Open Window in Irene, Centurion from 9am to 6pm daily. For more information visit their website here.
