{ Beautiful objects by Seung-Yong Song }

Seeing beautiful and cleverly designed products always puts a smile on my face and these gorgeous objects by Seoul based designer Seung-Yong Song have done just that. I love his clever use of scale, materials and play between light and heavy, delicate and bold. The top image features his Rong portable lights and the bottom his V4 vases. { Hanging Chair by MUT }

The Nautica Chair designed by MUT forms part of their 2012 product range, which was recently showcased at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. Inspired by light reflecting on the ocean, this chair looks like the perfect way to sit back, relax and at least pretend like you’re on a beach holiday.

{ Skinny laMinx: Wild Flowers }

I’m always excited to see what gorgeous new designs Heather Moore creates for her label Skinny laMinx, so I was thrilled to see the lovely animation she created to promote her new collection ‘Flower Dreams’. The centerpiece of this collection is ‘Wild Flowers’ which is a large-scale two colour screenprinted design available in four colourways: Strawberry Humbug, Lemon Humbug, Strawberry Plum and Lemon Plum. { My Favourite Colour }

My favourite colour is the brand spanking new label by South African fine artist Frances White. Her surface design label was launched at this year’s Design Indaba, showcasing a vibrant range of cushions inspired by South African flora and birdlife. Frances has some exciting products in the pipeline from fabric by the metre to tablecloths, placemats and tea towels, so be sure to bookmark her page or follow her on facebook.

{ The Faceture Project }

FACETURE from Phil Cuttance on Vimeo.

I am totally in awe of this series by Phil Cuttance, which consists of vases, light-shades and tables. Each FACETURE product is made by casting a water-based resin into unique handmade molds, assuring each object is one of a kind. I love the dramatic triangular facets contrasted with the pastel colour palette and how artistic and authentic the process is, beautifully captured in the video by Petr Krejci.

The FACETURE project was created with the support of Creative New Zealand.

These overdyed chairs by Anthropologie definitely speak for themselves! All I'm going to say is that they're AWESOME and I want one in each colour!

Caroline, Mikael and their son Elton share this beautiful home in the Swedish countryside. Their home story was featured on live from IKEA FAMILY and is a beautiful marriage between modern aesthetics and cosy charm. These himmeli mobiles from AMradio couldn’t be more perfect! AMradio is a beautifully curated shop with fabulous vintage finds and mobiles, so go check it out, it will be well worth your while.

South African product designer Liam Mooney has an outstanding selection of chairs as part of his signature range. I’m all over The Lowveld Stool which is based on the organic form of a tractor seat. You can also have a look at his amazing wine vases here.

Awesomeness is guaranteed by lamp designer, Luke Kelly. His Etsy shop showcases a cool selection of industrial lighting ranging from hanging lamps to table lamps. He is also open to customised requests. Go check it out!

{ Nancy Straughan Textiles }

Nancy Straughan is a textile designer who lives and works in London. Her work displays a keen eye for detail, bold graphic prints created with a strong sense of texture and an organic colour palette. Inspired by motifs seen in Scandinavian and 1950’s textiles, Nancy’s designs are perfect not only for homeware fabrics, but also fashion and wallpaper.

Even though Nancy has only recently finished art school, she has already created such an amazing design collection and brand. She is definitely an artist we can expect big things from in the future. So keep your eyes open for her latest work featured on her blog and Etsy shop.

{ Clever Clockwork }

This must be the coolest clock I’ve ever seen! Designed by Christiaan Postma from the Netherlands, the clock tells time through artful evolution of lines which spell out the time from one through to twelve. These screen grabs can in no way do the clock justice, so visit Christiaan’s site to see the clock in action - it’s brilliant!

{ Darling Clementine }

Darling Clementine is a Norwegian design duo known for their delightful illustration work. They have such a beautiful product range, from cushions to stationery and prints. On top of this, you might recognise their commissioned designs for well-known brands like Kate Spade and Ferm Living. Visit their site to see more great products like their 2012 calendar!
